Work-Life Grants

For Who?

  • All legally registered private or public organisations including non-profit and public sector organisations
  • Organisations who have at least FIVE paid employees
  • Organisations who would like to promote Work-Life Policy in the organisation

 

For What?

  • To encourage organisations to adopt a Work-Life Balance for their employees
  • To provide more opportunities for the unemployed to be introduced to the workforce

 

How Much?

 

The grant will subsidise up to a maximum of  S$160,000 per organisation. It consist of :

  • Development Grant (S$40,000)
  • FWA Incentive (S$120,000)
Development Grant

Maximum of S$40,000 per organisation, subject to successful provision of Flexible-Work-Arrangements (FWAs) to appropriate staffs and to fulfil the following requirements :

 

1. Appoint a work-life ambassador, normally a senior management to champion a work-life friendly workplace for the employees and communicate work-life policies to all employees

2. At least 10% of total employees (subject to minimum 5) must benefit from the FWA implemented

3. Conduct Need analysis, develop a FWA implementation plan, train on implementation & management of FWA

4. Pilot at least 2 new FWA, consult and monitor progress and make suitable tweaks to refine them

5. Formalize pilot scheme into HR policy & communicate to all employees

 

Funding Details

 

$10,000 – Upon completion of point 3 & 4*

$10,000 – Upon completion of point 5*

$20,000 – Disburse on eligible items incurred

 

* Company will receive $20,000 cash and NOT by reimbursement.

 

Items Eligible for Co-Funding

Up to 80% for the following :

  • Work-Life Training
  • Work-Life Consultancy

Up to 50% of the following :

  • IT infrastructure such as laptop, server & etc*
  • Selected employee support scheme such as lactation facility
  • Building owners may claim up to $20k on building lactation facility
  • Amount after subsidy is still eligible for PIC and PIC Bonus, subject to organisation’s eligibility. E.g. The company purchase a laptop cost $1000.

$1,000 x 50% funding under work life = $00 (Balance after funding)

$550 x 60% PIC Cash Payout = $200 (Balance after Work-life & PIC Cash Payout)

FWA Incentive

 Maximum of S$120,000 per organisation, disbursed in 3 tranches of up to S$40,000 each over 3 years. And to fulfil the following requirements :

 

  • Appoint a work-life ambassador, normally a senior management to champion a work-life friendly workplace for the employees and communicate work-life policies to all employees
  • Formalize 2 or more Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA) such as Flexi-Time, Flexi-Place or Part-time and communicated it to employees
  • At least 20% / 30% of total employees (subject to minimum 5) must benefit from the FWA implemented throughout each one year period, and half-of-them must be Singaporean employees, subject to a minimum 5 Singaporean employees
  • No more than 6 in 10 employees counting towards the 30% utilisation requirement can be on the same FWA type
  • Continuous improvements to work-life harmony must be demonstrated
Items Eligible for Co-Funding

The yearly incentive is based on the number of unique Singaporean employees using the FWAs :

  • S$10,000 for the first 5 Singaporean employees
  • S$1,500 per additional Singaporean employee, up to a maximum of S$30,000

 

There are 2 tiers of FWA utilisation,

1. 20% FWA utilisation – Up to $25,000 per year
2. 30% FWA utilisation – Up to $40,000 per year

 

Example:

There are a total of 20 employees in the company, and 16 employees will be participating in the FWA. All employees are Singapore citizens.

 

16 / 20 = 80% (exceeded 30%, hence $40,000 per year)

 

First 5 employees                                                            $10,000

Subsequent employees              (16-5) x $1,500          $16,500

 

Total Amount of FWA Incentive                                    $26,500

Things to note :

  • Development Grant must be completed within one year, effective from date of approval
  • Only Work-Life Consultants approved by MOM may be engaged for consultancy or training
  • Applicants should retain receipts, proof of purchases, as well as other documentary proof related to the project for 3 years
